Better check Kahles out. Excellant scopes. Starting in January, they have severed their working relationship with Swarovski. I'd expect big doings from them as they emerge from under the Swaro shadow.

I use Leupold on all my firearms. Lifetime warranty, crisp clean optics and very dependableunder any conditions.

ORIGINAL: cartkauffman

im lookin for a scope for my new rifle and was wondering what you guys think about different brands and what you use?
Zeiss, Kahles, Leica, Swarovski, Schmidt & Bender, Meopta, and a couple of other German/European scopes are probably the best. For the money, Leupolds are tough and reliable, the best U.S.make if all factors are considered. Nikon and Burris are good too. I have heard wonderful things about Night Force scopes, but never used one.

Most of mine are Leupolds, but I also use a few of the old steel tube Weavers (made in El Paso TX) and several old Lyman All-American Perma-Center scopes too. These may be old, but they are reliable and work as good as they did 30 years ago............

I own Burris, Leupold, Swarovski, Night Force, Weaver, and Zeiss, and all are good scopes. For my money, I think Zeiss Conquest is the best value for quality optics.
