best scope

Some say spend twice as much for your scope as you did for your rifle. Don't cheap out on your glass, or you'll never know what you and your rifle are capable of. I like Leupold, but there is a lot of good brands out there. Good Luck

I agree it depends upon your budget. I mostly use Bushnell Elites and Leupolds. If money is no object, look at Schmidt & Bender. I'm getting ready to sell a couple, but even used those go for well over $1,000.00 each.

I say save your money, don't buy Leupold. IF, you are set on spending that much money, there are better choices for that same 1000. PERSONALLY, for that much money, I like the Nightforce. Though understand that for me, it will double as a tactical rifle as well. For 500 or less, Get a Nikon. I had a buckmaster on a .308 and killed prairie dogs at 700 yds with it. Not as consisitantly as at 500, but still. I got impatient on my last scope purchase, a Leupold MK 4 Long Rang Tactical. I had wanted a Nightforce, but the one that I wanted was not in stock, and the company wasn't sure when I would be able to get one. I would rather have my $400 nikon back than the 1000 Piece of crap Leupold that I have now. 1st Day on the range, 3rd or 4th shot, a chunk of reticle came off. Their customer service is good, but I now have doubts in the product quality.
so, for under 1000. Buy a nikon
over 1000, Schmidt bender, Nightforce.....etc.
Leupold quality has, IMO gone down the crapper in the last 8-10 years.
