+1 WTH were they thinking with the recoil lug on the new 85 ..rifle is nice on the outside and has a nice feature..-socalled locking magazine release ??????? I took out a 75 yesterday and wacked it and dropped it on the floor and about anything you can do with a rifle except hit it with a claw hammer and that magzine didn't move..THE CRF is not a true CRF and cannot emulate the kind found on a winchester or mauser etc. The recoil lug is a definite turnoff and enough to make me not want one. I think they brought out the crf feature just because they wanted to sell guns to Winchester people.

Well oddly enough the CRF is what I was interested in. My real reason for the post was that after looking at a picture of the bolt face I was concerned about the CRF, it just looked henkey it is a big name maker.

You have a few choices if you want a true crf..used FN mauser,Browning safari new CZ550,Remington 798 or any other number of boutique mausers that are out there. If your wanting a ferrari you don't get a turbocharged chevy nova and expect the same. Same applies to rifles

Yep I call them as I see them and I doubt any magazine would hire me as a reviewer. It would cut too much into gun company profits.
