Default Rate of twist for the 260 Rem...

I noticed that Sako changed the rate of twist on the 260 Rem. For the model 75 they had it listed at 9” and now for the new model 85 they have changed it to 8” . It’s now the same as the 6.5 x 55. How much of a difference would this make? Would the new twist be better suited for heavier bullets?...
