An 870 with a smoothbore and a rifled slug barrel will last him the rest of his life. Plain and simple, a great and economically priced gun.

I like the idea of the Encore, however I think the Pro Hunter is over priced. The standard Encore is more than adequate. I am considering the 20 gauge barrel myself. Tom.
