If you think that anyone can do it with three factory rifles read the quote below.

Interpreted, that says: three guns, Heavy Benchrest, Heavy Varmint and Light Varmint, shot over 100 and 200 yds, yielded a 0.2949 minute of angle average for R. MARETZO on August 21, 83.

This fellow is claiming 0.250 minute of angle for three guns, with hunting rifles. He should take those three lightweight rifles and hunting scopes to a benchrest match, he could be the new world record holder.

There has to be more to it than that or that would be smoked by todays technology. Probably shot from each rifle into one group of .2949.

To meconsistently means on average or regularly or more than it doesn't. I would bet that if I hung a target @200and over time shot say a 100 rounds at it more than65-75 of them would go inside a half inch center to center or .784 outside dia.
That is not shooting 1/2" groups. If you shot 50 groups and averaged all the groups with the result being under 1/2",that would be consistant 1/2" groups.

No thats an aggregate or average group. Here's the link:

http://www.international-benchrest.com/RecordMain.shtml

The HB (heavy benchrest) record at 200 yards for a 10 shot group is .245

The LV (light varmint) 5 shot record was broken this year its now 0.091 which is absolutely unbelievable.

The thing that most people that spew these claims fail to realize is how unbelievably tough it is to do. People spend several thousands of dollars on custom actions, barrels and gunsmithing trying to have 1 consistant sub 1/4 MOA rifle. don't forget that they use 36X or 45X scopes also. And we are supposed to believe that three factory rifles with hunting scopes can do it. Lets just say: I'd have to see it, to believe it!
