Going to buy a remington 700 sps, in .270, trying to decide if i want to spend the extra cash to get a stainless barrel. so my question is, is it worth it? ive heard some say people buy it for the looks, ive heard others swear its easier to clean. thanks for yalls help.

I like the regular better. Stainless is like a mirror in the sun....just my 2 cents tho.

Bead blasted stainless produces less glare than blued steel.

The bead blasted finish won't flash like polished stainless and will look more like white from a distance in direct sun. A polished blue barrel will shine more. Mine is stainless with a protective coating, so there's no shine at all. Parkerizing is a time-tested alternative if you go with blue steel.

IMOi think the bead blasted stainless would stick out a little more.
