Default Simple Question

All strong copper solvents say they need to be removed from a barrel in about ten minutes. My question is how do you make sure you get it all out?

yep, dont use the harsh chemicals...use the foaming cleaners...forget who makes mine, but it doesnt even have a smell to it..fill the bore with foam, let soak for a half hour, patch it dry and your bore is spotless. only thing i found that would get the copper out of the 22-250. i dont know if its the velocity or the bore still being new, but that thing coppers up pretty quick and pretty bad. never had a rifle that collected so much copper...solvents of all kinds got laughed at...i tried a couple...love the foam though..

After I use Barnes CR-10, I run some Shooters Choice through the barrel with a nylon brush, and then a saturated cloth patch with Shooters Choice. Next a dry patch. Good luck.

Run a few dry patches thru the bore and then run a few oily patches thru the bore and chamber pointing the muzzle downward. In the future buy a can of wipeout foam...it doesn't get any better. I am done with the brushing and harsh chemicals. If you happen to have a gun with a great bore like a Sako,Tikka or a custom rifle it is even easier..4-5 patches and your done and you don't even have to oil the gun unless it is to be stored for the winter. Good Luck

When using sweets or CR-10 or butches, I might take some brake cleaner and put on a patch, it will remove any ammonia based products. But so will heavy oil use.
