Default Caliber of the week

Howdy guy's,I was trying not to go with the everyday run of the mill rounds.Just for S**** and giggles .SOOOO let's go with one we all know and love. Most have probally used at one time or the other be it military or sporting.HOW about the 30-06.Americas old faithful standby.First one I ever had was an ol '03-06.I was just a young'un and I hated to shoot that thing.I thoughtthemule always had snuck up behind me an kicked me in my ass everytime I pulled down on it .Still have it but would not take a little gold monkey for it.Have fun guy's.

I'd have to agree that it is probably the most versatile cartridge out there. There are better rounds for specific purposes but you just can't beat the versatility of the ol' '06. I don't know why I still don't own one.

I love my .30-06. It's all the rifle I'll ever need for hunting. It's about the most rifle I'd ever use for deer, and it'll certainly do the trick on elk, caribou and even moose. There is a good reason the .30-06 has been in the top 5 cartridges for sales for the last 101 years straight, and it's unlikely, barring a major breakthrough in small arms techknowlogy, that it'll become obsolete no matter how many "short-ultra-super-boomer" magnums come out.
