Default Knight KP 1 Muzzleloader/Rifle

Looks like a heck of a gun and I want to see one in person. Called Cabela's and another large outdoors retailer in the upper midwest and neither had seen them yet, although Knight's website says "available October 2007".

I'm in the market for a muzzleloader, and was deciding between the Omega and Encore, but this may figure into the mix. I'm not huge on single-shot rifles, but with 2 kids and .308 being the smallest caliber rifle I own, it'd be nice to add on a single shot .243 or something for a kid's first hunting rifle.

If anyone's seen one or knows where I can purchase one (deer season is coming up fast) I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

What's wrong with 7mm08 for the kids or even you? I'm 6'2" and 260# and love 7mm08-so does my daughter that has CLEANLY taken6 deer and she's only 14!

"Shooting Times" magazine just did an article on it for the December 2007 issue. There is also a nice articleaboutsingle shot's in the same issue.

The removable trigger would be a nice feature for muzzleloading, but it may be some time before accessories and a wide variety of add on barrels will be issued. The article says, "The KP1 will initially be offered in .17HMR, .22LR, .223, .243, .270, .30-06, .300Win Mag, .45-70, and .50 cal muzzleloader".

I'm surprized that 7mm-08 or .280 didn't make their list, but if the KP1 sells, I'm sure other barrel companies will offer their own fitted barrels.
