To shed some light on #3, I'm currently using a Remington 7600 .30-06. I agree that perceived recoil is subjective and depends on the actual rifle. I am wanting significantly less recoil for my next rifle.
I don't want to worry about testing a whole lot of rifles, so I am using 15 ft lbs of actual recoil energy as a convenient cut-off point.

I would say for what you listed you already own the best cartridge, you just need to find a way to tame the recoil is all.

The WORST recoil I EVER experienced was when I shot a .600 nitro express with I ?believe was loaded with 900 gr bullets and BOTH barrels went off at SAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give me your ONE CHOICE for a caliber that has to meet all of the following elements:
(1) Lethal on whitetailup to 300 yards;
(2) Lots of factory loads available; and
(3) Recoil energy under 15 ft lbs.

IMHO, of course... .
