Rifled Slugs in an 870 (28" barrel)

Thanks everyone! I'm going to buy a few boxes of different brands and see how I like them. Looks like I need to set aside a little H&R fund, but for now, I'll try this. I can always just use the muzzleloader if I'm not happy with the performance of the duck guns. Thanks again, this was a big help.
RugerMike - I'm going to get up with you about that scope mount; I'd like to check itout.

If you want to put a scope on the 870 , just get a B-Square saddle mount . All you have to do is remove the trigger assem. pins and replace them with the ones that come with the B-Square and the B-S even comes with rings . A bullet proof set up if you don't have a cantilever mount on the bbl. . I have seen the vent rib mounts tear up vent ribs or they can loosen up from firing . Just reverse the process to get back to using the vent rib and the scope & ringscan stay on the mount , ready for the next season. I have had them on my 1100 slug gun and my 870 mag. for years with no problems . Some worry about the finish when installing them , but if done correctly , they slide right on with no finish damage . Just don't over tighten the trigger assem. screws when installing, I have seen people wondering why there guns are hard to cycle because the B-S comes with Allen head screws and you can put too much torque on them.
