I found a remington 700 30-06 blued barrel with a laminated stock. What does laminating do for a stock? I don't know if I like it or not, it's kind of bright, but the natural grain of the wood shows up better than on the standard stocks.

Laminated stocks give you the strength of syn. with the feel of wood,
it is slightly heavier then standard stocks but you also get a tough as nails, no warp,no shink,or expanding product.
I say go for it.

What model of the 700 is it with the laminated stock?Looked at rem site and all I could find was the stainless mtn rifle,I have the mtn rifle in the wooden stock and black barrel,I was thinking of getting one in a 270 with laminated stock and blue barrel but the only one shown is with the stainless barrel.I just bought a 700 bdl stainless and it cost me here in NC $639.shopped around and that was the best price I could find.

I have a 700 Sendero in 300 RUM with a laminated stock and love it. The extra weight of the stock if very welcomed in tamming the recoil.

I don't know what kind of model 700 it is. All it says is "remington 700 30-06 lam".

I don't think it is a mountain rifle. It is the same length barrel and stock as that standard rifle, I haven't seen it on rem's web site either. It has rifle sights unlike most mountain rifles I have seen.

Walmart has has a 270 Remington with brown laminate stock and blue barrel for about $429.00 around here. I believe it says Rem 700ADL. I also have the 300RUM Sendero with the Brown Laminate and heavy blue barrel. I believe the VLS is the same blue barrel and laminate stock.
