Picked up a new Sako 75 today, took it home and went out to sight it in. Just goes click when I pulled the trigger. Will not make a mark on the primer at all. New Nikon monarch scope also has a huge bump in the horizontal cross hair. Ever feel like its just not supposed to be?????

Calnubie, good thought!!!!!
Here's another idea.....find a primed case.....no powder and no bullet.....primed case only and take the gun indoors and wait 24 hours to warm up. Install the primed case and point in a place to muffle the sound and see if you can fire the primed case. I've seen Sakos that have so little clearance between the firing pin and the firing pin hole that the hole closes up in cold weather and don't let the firing pin through!!!

This Sako isn't that model with the key lock, I am going to try just a primer today inside and see what happens. Did Sako fix the small firing pin hole for the people you know? This is a varmit rifle and MUST fire in cold weather.

I tried a dry fire this morning, no powder or bullet and the gun warmed up all night. Nothing, dealer is going to do some checking on it first thing monday morning. Dealers supplier only had one in this model and caliber. Maybe he could try a new supplier but then it might be more $.

if it will cost you more money to get what you want. i would take it back and ask for my money back and go else where. or send it back to the manufacturer to get it fixed.

The dealer called me and said bring it to me today (Sunday) and I'll look at it. Not many private type dealers have ever done that for me before. He looked at the bolt and took it apart. Whatever distributor he got the gun from ground off the firing pin so it wouldn't fire. He said it must have went to a shot show or something and was not happy with his distributor at all. Said it will have a new firing pin in it ASAP. Can't ask for more than that.
