You can get Leupold, Burris and Millett rings for your Sako. I was only able to find the Leupold in my catalogues but was told the other two were available. I have a set Optilok rings and base for my Sako and find that they are well made and solid. I also like the idea of the insert rings made out of nylon or plastic supplied with the rings to protect your scope. Check out a set of Optilok rings and bases before buying anything else. You’ll see what I mean. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your rifle as much as I do......

I have the Sako Optiloc on mine and if you take a good look at them and understand the mounting system you won't want anything else for that rifle. To buy lesser mounts will leave you with that " gee did I do the right thing" feeling every time you use it

Todderr...2 brands Sako or Conetrol..don't waste your hard earned money on anything else. WHen you buy the sako rings they use the same metail and finish as the rifle and it looks like it belongs there. The Conetrols will mount the scope lower and are very sleek. Sako low rings will be most otherrings high or medium setting just so you know. That is about the only objectionable thing I can find about them.

todd you have one of THE finest OTC guns available. Don't get cheap now! I had a set of Burris bases/rings (standard Leupold dovetail front, windage screw base rear) on my Sako TRG-S for 5 years. The bases fit the grooves atop the action and had one screw tapped into the action on each base. I never had one minutes trouble with it and it held my 6x24x50 Swarovski perfectly for 5 years. But too my horror when I returned from a trip too WY lastfall I checked the gun over after its plane ride in my Browning Travel Vault case. The rear windage screws on the base could be turned my hand!!! [:-][:-][:-]
I QUICKLY yanked them off and inspected everything and the screws in the base were taking a beating as well as every joint in the system. The Warbird puts a beating on it with that large and heavy of a scope on it I guess. I QUICKLY replaced the entire system with a full Optiloc system. I personally put them on and loctited everything down, I can speak for the BULLETPROOFNESS of the steel in the system. The bolts are HUGE and considerably stronger than the other systems on the market. If you add up the cost difference what are we talking about, less than $50 at MOST? THE most important link on the rifle and everyone wants to scrimp.
I think Optiloc means BOMBPROOF in Finnish!!!

OEH, have to agree with you. The Conetrol are very sleek. I will definitely check into it because I’m looking for a set of rings that will mount a 40mm or 42mm scope lower then the Optilok sets. Thanks for the info..
