I am looking for input on the best load for my scoped 12 Gauge Mossberg 500 equipped with a 24" Rifled slugster barrel.

I assume it is rifled, so try thr 2-3/4" Lightfield EXPs

slugger barrel is smooth i think if so you need a foster slugmy 500 likes old 2 3/4 feds

I have three slug guns plus a muzzleloader I can deer hunt with. Just for the hell of it I'm pulling out my Mossberg 500 with the same barrel to hunt with this year. I put a Nikon 2x7x32 scope on it last weekend and lookin for some slugs too. I used to shoot Winchester foster slugs and although they shot well they did lead the barrel up being a non sabot slug. But I did that for 10 years and just cleaned the barrel good after the season. I'm heading over the a Gander Mountain nearest me and going to buy some boxes of Winchester BRI Sabots.

Few of the guys I hunt with use the Mossberg 500 with the rifled barrel in 12ga. I did have one in 20ga. I used the Lightfields, as well as my friends in 12ga. with excellent results

Thanks for the info guys. Some of these sabots are on the pricey side and it helps to have your suggestions.
