Was thinking about my annual Spring bear hunt and was wondering how these factory loads performed on game. Has anyone shot some game with them ? My reloading equiptment has gone to pot and I found five boxes of the silvertips in my closet.

I believe the Winchester silvertips actually have an aluminum coating on the exposed lead tip and the reason is purely marketing.....
The large amount of exposed lead seems to make the bullet a fast expanding type and they'll be fine for animals that are close or small like black bear or deer. I'd be looking for something different for moose or elk however.....The .358 is truly a muscle gun!!
