I have personally gotten my hands on two, and they were 30-06, not .308 Win.

Perhaps Springfieldmakes both?

Youngguns you may want to read Springfields own website.

SOCOM's are .308Win. That is from Springfield Armory website directly.

Perhaps that's what the website said, but I am saying again, I saw and personnalyhandled two SOCOM's and they were 30-06 Springfield.

I read the barrel and tag, and it was definately a SOCOM.

Perhaps they were both custom shop items? Or they mayhave been re-barreled and somehow had the chamber switched to long-action, yet I seriously doubt all that trouble would be put into a rifle.

I saw both of these in two different places, one at afirearm show and the other at my localfirearmsdealer.
