shooting the 22lr
#11
Yup... I still love shooting my old Marlin Model 60 .22lr (now owned by my daughter). It's such a blast to shoot and have fun with. Zero recoil... Ultra lightweight... Quick 'n snappy action...
Isn't it a requirement to own a .22 rifle - I mean, everybody's got to have one somewhere in a closet or safe!

Enjoy shooting S&W K-22 and 622. Most fun at sand pit and not formal
range. Had to order new spring for 622 last time I cleaned it. It just got
away from me while re-assembling. That's ok, I know I have a spare somewhere under the dryer.

I love shooting .22LR. It's a great plinking round and is the best choice IMO for introducing people to shooting. My .22 rifles see more use than any of my other guns. They're just a blast to shoot!

We have a 1/2mile walking trail through the woods on the back of the farm. I cut a bunch of 3" X 5" steel plate targets and welded chain links on them then nailed them to the side of dead stumps with landscape spikes. Talk about fun! 3-4 guys walkin the trail plinking at those swingers. 3-400 rounds apiece in an afternoon and no bruised shoulders. and everybodys a better shooter because of it.

Any one who doesn't enjoy shooting a .22 is probably severely depressed, and takes little joy out of anything in life.
I still have and use a Red Rider BB gun as well. And moths on the wing under the lights on the back of the house at night are quite a challenge with it.
