I hear of people getting minis that shoot 1.5" and then I here of people getting them that shoot 12". What kind of accuracy is everyone seeing here? Are the new ones more accurate since they shut down the mini line for 18 months to bring in all new tooling?
Thanks,

One thing to consider is the thin barrel on the Mini. Guys go out and heat the barrel up by running a bunch of 30 round mags thru it then find the gun won't hit a paper plate at 100 yards with a (very) hot barrel.
The guys getting 1.5" may well be waiting between shots for the barrel to cool for 5 shot groups.
The Mini's that I have seen shoot sub moa either have a shortened barrel (16") or an aftermarket heavy barrel along with some trigger work and action bedding.
There is nothing better than the face of an AR-15 guy after getting outshot by a good shooting Mini-14!

I have one of the 580 series and I find that it shoots minute-of-good-enough-to-kill-a-coyote so I'm satisfied. But you may want to check out perfectunion.com. There's a forum just for the Mini on that site and some of those guys are nuts with the stuff they can and have done haha.

My Mini14 is a 1976 200th year of liberty gun, and it will consistenly shoot 2-10" groups at 100 yards
If you consider that consistent
My cousin has the same gun as well, his is the same way. Might have been a '76 thing, but I doubt that since one of my buddies bought a brand new one 2 years ago and its not consistent enough to kill jackrabbits out to 100 yards with a Nikon scope on it.
