Default 10/22 Help

Bought a 10/22 a few weeks ago. Finally got the thing to group decently after trying some different scope/ring/ammo combinations. Now I just have to figure out how to keep it from hanging up every 3 or 4 shots. The strange thing is that it feeds a new round but the old brass keeps the action from closing all the way. I can't figure how it can feed without completely ejecting the old brass. Any suggestions on a fix?

I had a 10/22 that had the same problems as yours. The first option is to try a different magazine, if that don't work here are two parts that I put on mine that fixed my problem completely.

It's new right? It'll take a hundred or so shots to break the action in.

So that's what a stovepipe jam is! I bought a new magazine today to see if that helps, but if not I'll try the mods you guys mentioned. Thanks for the help!
