for $800.00 i would get a Remington Model 700 sendero in a 300 Win mag. For long range you need heavy bullets. A .22 caliber has too light of bullets for long range. I would problably use 190 gr SPBT because of their high Ballistic Coefficient. Long range means big bullets and an accurate cartridge. $800 isn't enough to get an accurate gun that can shoot good groups at 1000yds that being long range target. What exactly are you talking long range if 1000 isn't it??????
