Smaller groups on new rifle?

Give Hornady a try, i have found them to be as accurate and sometimes more accurate than federal premiums in my rifles. Bonus they are a 5-7 bucks cheaper to boot (here anyway). Yeah, the trigger is a must. I started getting my triggers lightened a few years back and the difference was amazing. Now that's the first thing I do to my new guns and any budies who are experiencing group problems is get them to the 3 pound range.

Have the trigger pull lightened and polished, then have a target crown put on the barrel. Both are relatively cheap propositions that can work wonders on the accuracy of your rifle.

id agree trigger pull and maybe to answer your question(not sure if this was said) try some federals...ive read a few pages and all perfered federal match loads...your gun may or may not like them...and liek someone else said it might like diffrent weights too....play around if you want better...id suggest a trigger job first...and how about your scope? maybe it cant do it?...and maybe its you not the gun....no offense or anything..100yds is a good range and shooting 1.5inches isnt too bad at all....

i have a wetherby 30-06 it is very accurate with rem core lock 150 and it doesn't like 180 grain .you have to just keep trying different brand and grain until you find the one your gun likes.
