I love .30 calibers they all seem to kill great. But the .300 win mag is my favorite. A old 30-06 makes a great deer gun to.

Were you referring to the .308 Winchester or the .308 Norma? There is a world of difference. Roskoe

The most important thing to me is that I want to take the guesswork out of a 300 plus yard shot! I want to know which caliber would drop the least at distance,or if there is enough difference between the 2. Thanks

The .300 Win. Mag drops somewhere in the vicinity of 5 inches, I think at 300 yards, and a .308 drops 7.5 inches.

I was talking about the .308 win. Is there a better load than my 2 choices? I just like the knockdown power of the .300 win but want the least amount of bullet drop. Tnaks guys for all the replies!!!

The .300 Win. Mag. has more power, and shoots flatter. The .300 Win. Mag. would be a good all aroundcartridge for North America. Good luck.
I somewhat agree with that but I am getting a 7mm-08 for the deer up north here in Michigan and keeping my 7 Mag for bigger game. I don't plan on hunting Grizzlie or Brownie but I know my 7 Mag can get the job done. And before you say it, I will carry mace for the event that I ever stumble upon one. Maybe even a side arm ; - ).

It's semantics, the 308 win will take the same game as the 300 winmag only do it slower. It's like the age old debate 300 winmag or 30-06.

30-378 Weatherby, or the .300 Remington Ultra Mag. Or if you have the cash, a Lazzeroni Warbird. ;)
