Brand new Mossberg 935 Mag. Autoloader, broke
Okay I normally do not vent but in this case I am getting aggravaited. Here's the deal. I have owed now 3 Mossberg shotguns and never really had any issue's. So this weekend I go to pattern my brand new 935 and really wanted a autoloader, so low and behold it will not load up the second or third round. Each time the round would hang up between the magazine and chamber. I was shooting 3.5 Federal Turkey loads so not the loads causing any issue's. Also, I went ahead and tried to sight/pattern in the gun. Fully maxed out the gun at 20 yrds still shot 5 inches left and 2 inches high. So now I am thinking I made a huge mistake. So I realize guns are registred to the buyer so just returning and getting another just does not work.
So I go to the Mossberg site and let them know via e-mail whats going on and that the gun is coming back and hope for a quick repair as it is brand new. I have now written 3 e-mails with no response. I will say this for any company, IF YOU OFFER E-MAIL as a contact then answer it and support it. I know a lot of you out there feel the same way. I feel like it is a great communication tool, and rather than tie you up on the phone you can reserach and then answer my question's completely. Could I call, Yes, but my E-mail should be treated with respect just as if I was calling. DO NOT OFFER IT if you will not support it. Any how my question's very simple and just wanting to know they will do everything to get this gun right and back out to me ASAP. I fully understood that they could not comment on any particulars until the gun hits their dock so I did not ask. If this represents their Customer Service and Product, 3rd time is not a charm for me and I will NEVER buy another Mossberg product. |

ORIGINAL: arkansasbowman So I realize guns are registred to the buyer so just returning and getting another just does not work. One other thing, it might be the shell. I have seen Beretta 391s that would not shoot one particular load at all... just wouldn't do it. Who knows.... auto loaders can be fickle, and 935s aren't exactly precision machines. They should of course work, and I am not saying you should settle by any means. Just suggesting you may want to try a different load combo.Better than just eating the cost of the gun and assuming it doesn't work. About the POI, have a buddy shoot it and see if there is any difference. Moreover, try using a lighter load. I know 935s aren't set up for light dove loads, but try some lighter 3" loads or some mag 2 3/4" ones. May save your shoulder a bit. Also, move your target in to 15 yards. 5 yards makes a world of difference. Good luck. Hope you get it straight. |

I might have somewhat mis-spoke about the registration. What I meant is you cannot just take it back and trade it in, not quite that easy. My dealer is sending it back free of charge. However this was a brand new gun, never fired, now Mossberg will not return any e-mails. That is the problem.

RE: Brand new Mossberg 935 Mag. Autoloader, broke
I emailed Mossberg once and it took them three weeks to reply. Granted it wasn't about a non-functioning weapon, just issues with the way it was handling with certain loads.
I also emailed Federal with the same info that I gave to Mossberg and got a reply in under 20 minutes. |

So a brand new gun won't work unless I clean it? and that is normal. That seems odd to me. And if you want to say I am upset over one round type. Yep, sure am, if you cannot fire a standard 3.5" Federal Mag Turkey load then that speaks terrible about the gun. I would understand if I was trying to put through a very light 3" load, but even then it should still work.
