Burris Fullfield 2 Questions
#1

Are these scopes as good or better than a Leupold VXII?
I have been using Leupolds for quite a few years now, and want to change it up some. I really want to get something with a ballistic plex reticle to go on my 243 for coyote busting.
I've been looking at the Burris Fullfield 2 4.5-14x42. Whats your thoughts on this scope?
Also my old man is looking to upgrade from a Leupold Vari X I 3-9x40 on his Winchester Model 100 308. Whatcha think its a good scope for around 250 for him?
Thanks fellas!

I have never owned either a Leupold or Burris, but was real close to buying a FF 2 a couple months back, as I heard a ton of very good things regarding them. Leupold also has a very good rep. I would say that they are probably close in quality.

Rammer,
I have 1 VXII 3x9 and 2 VXIII 3.5x10 Leupolds. I bought a 7mmWSM and didn't have the funds for a VXIII, so I bought a Fullfield II 4.5x14 with the balistic plex. Good scope. I shot a muley this year with only a couple of minutes of legal light left. I had no problem placing the cross hair where it needed to be. When i shoot with the VXIII and the Burris at the range back to back there is a noticeable difference. THe reticle on the Burris is thicker. I personally prefer the Leupolds, but as stated previously if the funds are tight the Burris is a good buy.
Hope this helps you

Ripstop - That is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for. I just sold 2 Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40s, and I have $$$ laying around. I emailed Leupold tonite and asked them if/how much to put a Varmint Hunters Reticle in my VXII. So, we'll see what they say.
If that isn't possible I have a VXII 4-12x40 in silver for sale.
Here is a picture of the scope.
