I got a gun passed down to me by my wife's late uncle, actually 4 guns but this one has me trying to find out a little info on it. It's a Marlin Golden 39A serial #9895. It looks like it has a "W" in front of the number but I can't tell. On the side of the reciever it is engraved "300 Gunsmith Service". Around the middle 0 it has a square box with what looks like a barrel sight on top of the box in the middle. Sorry I don't have a camera to post any pictures of this gun right now. Any one know much about these? Age, what it's worth, and really interested in the engraving. I seen many 39A's at gun shows but none quite like this. It also has a hooded front sight if that makes any difference. Thanks
