Help would greatly be appreciated

If you are that tight with $ go with the Savage. You couldnt give most people a 710. Like Ive said before they call it a 710 because thats about what time on opening morning you realize you just wasted 300$.

If I was strapped for cash, Id either look for a used gun or buy a new Savage package deal(or Stevens if I could deal with a heavy trigger)and hunt with the crappy scope it comes with until I could save up a few $ and get a better scope.

If you are comparing Remington to Savage well that mainly personal opinion but if you are comparing Savage to the Rem 710 then you'll sleep a lot better owning the Savage.

I'd go with a savage. My next rifle will likely be a savage in .30-06. Might be a year or two before that happens.
