hand lapping
I have a tikka t3 7mm l/s , and have put about 200 shots through it if not more. (maybe even 300). Anyways, would i see any improvement if i were to get the barrel hand lapped now? Or is that basically a strictly brand new barrel type of deal?
My local gunsmith does it for only 35 bucks, so i figure if it will help group by even .001 inches, it would probably be worth it.

RE: hand lapping
You can easily ruin a barrel hand lapping. I think its wise to have a bore scope to see your progress. I tried hand lapping a throat of a gun that had heat cracks, and over did it. I didn't know what I was doing at the time. I wasn't too upset, because the heat cracks in the throat area, but had to have the gun rereamed, and everything reset and lost over 1.5" of barrel. I ended up selling the gun. Took a big loss.
