I just bought a Winchester Stealth in a 22-250 it shoots under 1" and haven't had the trigger adjusted yet.

mike...Why don't you get a 25-06 barrel for the Encore? ACCURATE...I took a chuck at 503 yards with my Encore...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'd bet on the savage in either caliber. Savage discontinued the 220 swift this year so you'll have to find an older one if that's the caliber you want.

IMHO. Both are good brands to buy. The Savage is not as pretty [some people say ?] , as a Remington?????????? The Savage was or is,a low cost gun,but will keep up or out shoot the others . The 22-250 is a very good round and highly adaptable.
The trigers,on both, can be adjusted, enough to make them very shootable.
220 Swift ????????
Get what you desire and you will be very happy.

I can't give any input on the Savage as I have never owned one.
However I do own a Rem 700VS and it's very accurate.
I would pick the 22-250, but there's nothing wrong with the swift.

Mike,
Have you thought about a Ruger V/T. The one I had would shoot circles around my Rem. and Savage.

I really hadnt thought about the ruger but it is a nice gun I like guns with adjustable triggers and savage is comming out wit the acu trigger in 2003 for the heavy barrel and varmint rifles you can adjust it from 1.5 to 6 lbs i believe it comes with a special tool to do this.

I was looking at the rem 700 vs but went with the ruger. 22-250 was my choice as well. great round. I am considering the savage for a 7-08. Look back aways, lot's of posts on the savage, I have yet to see one of the newer ones though. Somewhere I thought I read about replacement barrels on them, different barrels easily replaced may be a future consideration.
