I give my vote to my old Savage 110 30'06.(Stevens 200 now)
It was stolen from me but I put much meat in a skillet with it.
I huntedEVERYTHING with that rifle. Nothing "barks" a tree-rat like the '06
It wore a Weaver 4x and was on it's second barrel.
Memories.
It was/is as the thieftook my hunting journal.

Best cal.? 3 way tie 1) .44 mag out of a rifle -240 gr /1700 fps is so underrated.2) Any medium velocity 7mm 160/175 gr. 3) 12ga slug!win partion gold -but only if you like fist size holes!

Model 94 in anything it's chambered for, followed closely by a Ithica 37-(20ga). Bolts and scopes are for kidz...;)

As far as best gun/rifle I really like Ruger M77's they are solid preformers.I also like ruger pistols ,black hawks and super red hawks are as solid as it gets.

Remington 870. Notice he said "woods", not just "deer woods". The 870 can, and does, take anything in my woods.
