If I could only have one gun in the world, it would be a .22 LR. It will put food on the table, cheap to shoot, and never wears out.

A 700 Remington in 270 is number one in my opinion. A 30.06 is next.The good ole 30. 30 Winchester 94is a proud third.I am not a "MagManic" .... no offense to anyone.Although I have used them in my travels especially a 7WSM( a very potent round indeed, not to mention very accurate). I hunt whitetail deer in South Central Kentucky. Shots are usually made in 200 yards or less. I see no need for the extra everything. My Grandpa is a 30.06 but my Daddy is a 270. I love them both. Thesethree calibers will live a long, long, long, time. The wheel can only be re-invented so many times.

Best gun out there? Well, there's lots of good guns. If you'd asked for best deer rifle - well that is an easy answer:
