I'm thinking about asking for a .22 for christmas. I was wondering what you fella's thoughts are on them. Is there a brand or style that is popular? what are good ones to get. I see 22's all over the place, i don't want a cheap one. Something that is very accuate.

If I was looking for a new .22lr that was accurate, great trigger, reliable, and just pretty to look at... I would get the CZ 452 American. Great gun, not a bad price, seen them for around $275, and they are tack drivers..... A marlin won't even compare to these fine rifles....and I own two marlins

I second the vote for the Ruger 10/22. Lot's of accessories for this as well. If I had the money I would get a Kimber. Not the gun I would recommend for a beginner but they sure are nice. The Ruger won't do you wrong I love mine. Good luck and shoot safe

I would highly recommend the Ruger 10/22, they are inexspensive, accurate and just fun to shoot. Plus there are tons of parts out there to make them custom target rifles. Ive killed many squirrels with mine. I think mine cost like 160.00, so there not going to break the budget. The best .22 i ever had though was my 55D anshultz, ive never seen anything that would shoot with it, sorry i sold it.

Get a ruger 10/22. I have had mine for about 30 years and it has never let me down.
You can buy more accesories for this gun than any other .22 including barrels that are guaranteed to shoot 1/2" groups at 50 yards.

10/22 is always a good choice for the ones who like the semi-auto (and somedays thats what i want and other days its not). a 77/22 aint a bad choice if you want a bolt action either though
