I have a little extra money from Christmas and I'm lookin into to getting a shot gun for shooting skeet and maybe some bird, turkey, and duck hunting if opportunity ever knocked. For now though just shooting skeet in the back yard.Anybody have any suggestions on any?I'm looking to spend about a couple of hundred on one.
Thanks,

I have a Mossberg 500 12 gauge pump shotgun. It handles 2 -3/4 inch and 3 inch shells. I love it, it was my first gun and it functions flawlessly 6 years later. I don't get to shoot it as much as I'd like, but when I do I can knock out 45 out of 50 birds consistently, and the other 5 are cuz of me. I'm gonna hunt duck and maybe turkey this year with it. If you buy it from Wal-Mart and most other places, you should get 3 choke tubes and a shorter "home defense" barrel. Mine cost 250 I think. Its not all frilly, but a shotgun isnt supposed to be pretty.

Anyways, that's my two cents

Moss 500, Win 1300 or Rem 1100

I say look into the Stoeger line of guns. The Condor or Model 2000 are great guns for cheap.

Benelli or Beretta WalMart sell a Beretta 12 ga auto (390 or 391?) at a very reasonable price.

I use my Benelli M1 Super 90 for everything. Its a lil more than a couple hundred, but definately worth it if you shoot as much as I do. I also have a few side-by-sides, a Benelli M2, Citori, BPS, and a few others just in case. LOL

Remington 1100 you can't go wrong. You can get one that shoots 3in mag shells and you can buy any barrel or choke tube you need. You can try a pump but it's a little harder skeet shooting. If I was going to buy a pump I would get a Rem Gamemaster.

I bought a Remington Spartan SPR 310 for skeet. I paid around $400. It is much nicer than the Stoeger Condor.

I'm with legion. Spartans are nicer than the condors. If you can spend the a little xtra get a over and under or an auto of some kind. I'm a browning person myself but it doesn't sound like you are wanting to get into that kind of price range. The rem 1100, mossberg 935, or chales daly are all ok guns to get started with. I would say the rem 1100 is the better of the three. Stoegers auto's are nice also. I've seen them on sale for under $500 on occasion...you may have to look for a deal. They are nice guns for the $. If your going to get a pumpstick with the Remington 870 or maybe a benelli nova.

A "few hundred" is pretty vague...but I'd opt for an 870 magnum (shoots the 3" shells for turkey and ducks) or Mossy 500 or whatever their step up pump is. (NOT the one that's even cheaper than the 500, 535 I think) or the benelli nova. All are quality pumps, which means they fit around the $300 mark...will last a lifetime, can be put through all types of torture, and make you smile when they shrug it off. Pick which ever "feels" and "points" the best for you.
