I have a H&R Handi-Rifle in 223.($179) I sent it back to them and they lightened the trigger. ($20) I then floated the barrel. (About $2) I bought a cheap sling, ($15) and a Harris Bipod ($50) I had a K10 Weaver around the house that I put on. The gun will shoot 1/2" groups off a bench at 100yds with Black Hills 55gr V-MAX bullets.
All told, I have about $265 in the gun...not including scope.
