760 vs 7600
im thinking about my next deer rifle...i love the mauser but im ready for something diffrent...lighter, doesnt rust to beans on me no matter what, more accurate etc..the mauser hasnt let me down..but its heavy as all get out..and accuracy just isnt there in the original barrel. ive shot some 760 gamemasters and they were accurate, light and handled well. i still gotta decide between one of the pump guns or an encore(always wanted an encore) just curious what the diffrences are in the 760 and 7600..i know the 7600 is newer...but i can find a 760 gamemaster in great shape for a decint price RIGHT NOW. i dont see all too many 7600s. just curious...whats the better gun? what problems do they have?? any advice or knowledge to share?? thanx...
i know the encore and a pump gun are 2 diffrent breeds...i dont NEED a pump gun and a single shot would suit me well..but ive always liked both guns..to get my hands on an encore im talking 500+ easy..a 760 in good condition i can find for 300 or so..so in the end cash will be the decision factor..ill get the other later in life im sure..just looking to retire the mauser soon and always liked encores and 760s....but dont know if a 7600 is a better gun or what...

RE: 760 vs 7600
There really isn't much difference. I have owned several of each. Regardless of which number they have stamped on them they are as good a shooter as most bolt actions. Their function is as cllose to perfect as anything mechanical can be. In the six I have owned, I have yet to have a malfunctioin of any kind. The triggers are not great and not adjustable but they are not bad either.
