I was handling an American Classic this am at the gun store, & I liked everything about it except the fore-end: it seemed a bit thicker than I'd like. I'm used to the slim fore-end on my Remington 700 CDL. I also love the feel of the 700 Mountain Rifles that I've handled.
Does anyone have the 14 or 114 Classic (not American Classic or European Classic) model? If so, is the forend any slimmer?
I've enjoyed my Mark II-BV so much that I'd like to try a Savage centerfire, probably in 7mm-08. However, I really want the gun to feel comfortable when I throw it to my shoulder.
Thanks in advance!

I do not have a classic, but do have the American classic 114 in .300 win mag and it shot 1" groups with Wolf ammo out of the box, and later shot 1 1/2" groups at 200 yards with Winchester Fail safe 165 grns.
