Low cost the 10/22 and the Marlin 60 are both good enough shooters.
But my all time favorite 22 is the Remington 513 TargetMaster. Now that's a good shooting 22lr. I got two of them one scoped and one with redfield peep sights. 200yd prarie dog wackers.

I wouldsay a Anschutz or a Cooper would be the best. And a Kimber would be on that list as well.

I am happy for you guys that feel you need the most expensive guns on the market. But just give me a Marlin mod 60, which is more accurate than any of you can use under field conditions, and I'll spend the difference on ammo!

If you got the money buy the expensive ones if you don't, The cheap ones do just as good as job.And it can't be proven any different when it comes to game animals. To me a 30-06 savage is as good as a 30-06 weatherby.

If the person is a littel tite on budget the savage mark II 22 LR. and if you can find a box of Winchester Dina points I feel has an realy smooth action and a free flowted barrle i can pick off acorns at 25 yards and pocker chips at fifty yards all after noon. and if that dosent sound good enough to ya. If ya ever see ya a black bird sitten exactly a 147 yards out ame what you think is 6 inch. hi and scuize one off it will make your hart stop
