Question on 527 CZ American in 204Ruger
Hello all
I just received a used CZ 527 in Sunset camo rifle in the 204 ruger. This is a good-looking gun for sure. Previous owner seems to have lost the original rings so I ordered a set of Millett rings from Lock stock & barrel. Bore looks squeaky clean, yet I will still run a few patches through her prior to sighting her in.
Also have a 527 Varmint in 204 Ruger, which shoots a ragged hole w factory Hornady 32 gr v-max with no alterations required. Had my best luck with Sierra 32 gr blitz kings over a hot H4198 charge in the Varmint. The American looks so cute I just had to give her a try.
Have a question regarding bedding and overall accuracy of the 527 American. The previous owner of this rifle seems to have had difficulty w accuracy of this rifle.
Whenthis rifle wasreceived there was a pressure pad at the end of the forearm. I promptly removed the pressure pad and found that the barrel channel had been sanded but not re-sealed. Well the channel was in need of additional relief so out came the 60 grit sand paper & sealer.
With the barrel channel adequately relived and sealed can anyone offer any additional areas one may want to scrutinize while I am waiting on rings? Ill consider re-installing the pressure-pad should I experience poor luck w the properly free-floated barrel.
Thanks for your help.

RE: Question on 527 CZ American in 204Ruger
Never mind!
She just needed the right load. My pet 32gr sierra over a hot charge of H4198 is producing 1/2-minute angle 5 shot groups None of my factory offerings grouped less than a minute.
That should be no surprise I suppose.

RE: Question on 527 CZ American in 204Ruger
Would anyone have any words ofadvice to offer one considering bedding, a CZ 527 American. More specifically I am looking for ideas as how to approach bedding the recoil lug.
With the right load this 204 is shooting well, yet my groups are spreading side to side which leaves me suspicious of the bedding.
Someone has to have some experience bedding these 527’s.
Thanks for any advice.
