Default Cleaning a Mossberg Chuckster.

I borrowed my friend's old Chuckster to take shooting on Sunday when hunting's closed in Jersey. Since it hasn't been cleaned in God knows how long, I'd like to do that now. I have the rod, brush, jag, swab, patches, etc. However, I'm unsure of how to remove that little plastic thing behind the bolt to get it out. Can anyone explain how to me?

I used to have a Chuckster. Never took it apart, just removed the action from the stock and blasted it out w/ choke & carb cleaner and re-oiled it. Great little gun.........

remove the action from the stock, then remove the 2 smallset screws from the side of the reciever just in front of the cap oppisite side of the safty lever, then either push or pull the little lever under the cap and it will come off for ya .Now you can remove the bolt for cleaning.Good Cleaning.
