Lots of variables here that are unknown........like what caliber, make of gun and twist of barrel, what powder and size of its load, what bullet and its weight?????????? Just for starters. I did a bore sight on my 2 CVA HunterMag inlines at 3-4" high (for 100 yds) I shoot 100 gr cleanshot (loose) with the 295 gr Powerbelt copper clad HP. Took them to the range and got the 1st to hit dead on elevation but 2" left of center. the next was 2" low and 2-3" left of center. Same guns same exact load. You gotta shoot the ML to see what it likes, dont assume it will hit where you point it. You owe the animal a better shake than that, besides its fun to shoot the smoke poles (except for the clean-up if ya use the other powders)

Just thought I would add that my Bro-in-law scoped his side lock, we did the bore sight and his would not hit the 4' X 4' cardboard I mounted the target to. I always use a huge backing piece to get a feel for where the gun is hitting. Some dont make the paper 1st time around. Turns out he was using some real old pyrodex. We loaded him up with the clean shot and at least hit the paper. Still dont know where the 1st ones were going, maybe bouncing across the ground in front of us.

It will do if your shots are under 100yards which is all I will take with a muzzleloader. But if you want to be sure, got to shoot it. All bullets fly different. I can shoot 240gr XTP and hit dead at 100 with 1" high at 50 and shoot 250barnes be 2" low at 100. Just got to shoot it.
