I think the .308 Marlin Express looks awesome. I might get that as a second gun if it catches on.

The article claims that it outperforms the venerable 375 H&H. That is saying a lot. I'm not saying it won't last, but the 375 H&H certainly has and is chambered in a few good rifles to this day. the numbers for similar bullet weights look so similar the only advantage seems to be the standard case and length.
I'll watching this thread and the industry's response to this cartridge. Looks very interesting.

I was looking at the ballistics Hornady lists for both these new cartridges. They seem a bit wishfull. As with most loads in reloading manuals and ALL factory loads I've chronographed, I'll bet they don't quite meet up to claims.
The 375 round seems a bit redundant since it looks about like the 375 Scovil and the 376 Steyr which by the way is a Hornady cartridge.
I'm still interested in it though. Especially if it's got a .473" head diameter. If reamers are available, I may build one as a hog gun. Like I really need another one.

To go against my earlier statment regarding this cartridge, I must say, I think its more fizzle than pop, I don't buy the ads, also, Hornady could always shave a few inches off of the drop to make it look better, I doubt this cartridge can do anything the good ole' .375 H&H can't.

What's wrong w/ the 30-06 ?
Gun Mfgs not selling enough guns
chambered for it ?
Not flashy enough ?
Hay, I've got an idea.....Let's invent
a new round that all the "in the know"
shooters will fall in love with, and then
chamber new guns for it and make a ton of money,
and stay in business.
After all, nothing is better than being able to brag
about the new rifle you've got, chambered in the
special bullet/casing combination de jour. RIGHT ?
ME, I LOVE THE 30-06. Lately though I've been thinkin that
it doesn't kick hard enough or kill quite dead enough and I'm
not feeling the testestorone rush like I used to. Mabe I should
buy what they're selling, NOT. I love the -06.

I don't like the 30-06's recoil.
