Default Help with sighting in

I will be sighting in the following 3 guns this thursday. I was wondering without pulling up ballistic tables if you guys would be able to tell me where I would be shooting if I zero my guns at 100 yards.

300 win mag (ruger M77 mark 2) I bought a box of the new winchester's and I also have a box of hornady 165 grain red tips

30-06 180 grain soft points

44 mag (marlin lever)... I would obviously sight this gun in for 50 yards.

any help is appreciated. I usually hunt areas where a 50 yard shot is max but then there are a few areas where a 300 yard shot is capable. If I zero the 300 mag for 100 yards can I be confident that my aim for 50 yards all the way to 300 yards will be the same or will I have to adjust for the distance?

I'd sight the 300 in about 1.5-2inches high at 100. You should be dead on at 50 and back to zero around 250.

I would set them all at 3.0" high at 100 yds. Good luck.

It really depends on your hunting situation. Since you are in NY, you may well not have too many shots beyond 100-150 yards. Hence, I would zero my rifles at the range you expect to shoot your game and be done with it!

Now, if you are going out west, where you may have to stretch that 300 out past 300, I'd put it 2" high at 100, and hold dead on out to 300 yards. Simple is mo' better, so to speak.
