That picture may be a little graphic to some , but was about as humane as is possable. That animal felt no pain and suffered none.

Wow. When you shoot one where you hit her it doesn't really matter about meat damage but that kind of rapid explosive expansion is why I just don't care for ballistic tips.

My son pictured there shot that deer at 195yds. Using a .243 100 gr Federal sierra gamkings.
Heres another pic of the same deer with the skin still on.

The deer went straight down but wasnt finished. When we walked up to it it was still trying to get up, so I put one in the neck at pointblank.
Heres a pic of that hole. Both holes look the same, but the first hole was from a 195 yds away.

Rebel hog, it looks dead to me, great shooting. I shot a small one a few years ago with my 45-70 and had a hole like that from the front all the way out his butt, a mess to dress and clean up, but only lost one hind quarter. Every thing else that got tore up was heart lungs and sh!!.

i had similar results with a 168 grain ballistic silvertip out of my 308 on a doe at 50 or so yards. I ended up going to a bonded core bullet after seeing firsthand what everyone was trying to tell me about ballistic tips and short range missouri whitetail shots.
