pics of exit hole

opening day of rifle season a couple years ago, this doe was shot in
the back leg. i saw her cross a fire lane and enter some young pines before i could finish her off. i didnt like the shot i had (neck-throat), but i wanted to
put her down so i took it. here is a pic of the exit wound from a 300 WSM-150 gr. winchester ballistic silvertip at approx.70 yrds. BTW, she sure ate good.

That's called "high velocity" with a lightly constructed bullet!

I would be pissed about that. You must have lost at least 5lbs maybe more. She felt nothing though which is a good thing.

Exactly. THat's called a ballistic tip that is designed to expand at lower velocities and self destructs at shorter ranges.

I shot a doe with my 300 WSM at about 20 yards a few years ago and blew a hole that size in her rib cage... She stumbled about 10 yards... Same bullet you were using:)
