Think one would hold up on my 460S&W? I am having a hard time keeping my scope from moving now. Wonder if a reddot would fall apart.

I have detachable weaver style (warne magnums) on now and the performance models have a fixed weaver rail. Thought it woudl be nice to be able to take a scope off and put on a reddot for some situations and viseversa.

Goodness, nobody on here has a reddot on a pistol?

I tried a Millett red dot (supposed to be a pretty good scope) on a Ruger Super Redhawk chambered in a 454 casull. It took exactly three rounds to destroy the internals on the sight, laser inside came completely loose. I called Millett and they told me that it should hold up to the recoil, send it back and we will send you another one.The second oneheld up forfive rounds. They sent me another one and suggested not using it on a handgun with that kind of recoil.

I'd vote No it wouldn't hold up. I had a buddy put a Bushnell on his Mini14, it lasted 15-20rds with the 223s recoil.
