Default Rifle re-stocking

I've been investigating re-stocking one of my rifles. So far, I've checked McMillan fiberglass and Accurate Hunter. Anybody with any other advice and / or suggestions (I've never done this before)?

Here are a few others I would reccomend, these 2 offer a aluminum bedding block in their stocks.

and an old stanard.... http://www.brownprecision.com/brown-precision-stocks.htm

and another.... http://www.rimrockstocks.com/

and there are others

It depends on your wants/needs and specific applications but you should able to find one you like with these companies.

I use Mc Millan stocks as I beleive they are one of the finest made.

I have used h-s precision, but I now use mcmillan exclusively. Many gunsmiths are now skim bedding the stocks with aluminum bedding blocks,so I don't really see them as an advantage.

And BUDGET.

I put a Remington Synthetic on my 700 ADL in place of the laminate that I had on it. Didn't change the point of impact at all, and still much more accurate than I am. Remington's synthetics cost about $85 for their rifles. Other companies vary from $75 to $300+. When my son outgrows the youth stock on his Model 7, I'll be getting him an adult sized stock, from Remington.

just depends if ya want wood or synthetic. synthetic, hsprecision makes good ones. i chose wood on my 7mm ruger and bought a laminate from boys gunstock industries. its a thumbhole stock and it is beautiful on the rifle and is very comfortable to shoot. you can get these for 100.00 shipping included if you know how to put finish on a stock which is what i did. they cost arouund 200.00 already finished.

Thanks for the replies. I'm probably going to go with McMillan.
