I would use 130gr bullets as the 150's are not needed for deer. The 130's are also more accurate in your rifle so you have a better chance at getting the shot placement you desire.

The 130-grain that shoots well in your rifle is the one I'd use. The idea that one should use round-nose bullets in close-range brush condiditions is a lot of bull!! In fact, the 130-grain is good for anything up to caribou and similar sized critters!!

Keep yore powder dry!!

Go with the 130's, I have taken a number of deer in the bush with a 270 and 130gr bullet.

No such thing as a bush beater so don't even think about it. Shoot what groups the best it will give you more confidence and room for error in the heat of the moment.

My father has used a ParkerHale 270 with 130gr bullets for over 30 years. Most of his hunting is in northern BC where he usually hunts those huge moose. He says he has never had a problem with that combination in all that time, usually making ons shot kills on the moose. So don`t worry about those 130grs not doing the job on northern deer.

The 130gr bullet is all one would ever need out of a .270 Win when hunting deer. <img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle>

Danny,
I have never used Hi Shoks but I have killed deer with both .270 150gr and 130grs core lokts. I like the 130's better because they group better and fly a little bit flatter. They will both kill a deer, use which ever one groups better.

Good luck.
