I have one also, a remington model 7 and it is a great rifle. Try out the winchester XX supreme's for lightskinned animals. They are awesome store bought rounds

I've been hunting with a remington model 7 in 7mm-08 since 1991. I bought it for myself to have a lightweight compact gun for hunting in my climbing stands. I also have a 243, a 308, and a 270. I hunt with the 7mm-08 almost exclusively. It has proven itself time and again. Even when I hunt in my tower stand it is nice and compact and easy to manuver. I love that gun and I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed in that round. Good luck.
