7mm-08 Remington??
 

I have heard from SO many hunters, that this is a great round. Its relatively new, came around in 1980, and I really have heard nothing but praise about it. Does anyone here have any personal experience with this round? Anything bad about it? thanks for the input

You about summed it up yourself.Was around long before 1980 as a wildcat.Get one you won't be disappointed.

Quite possibly the best deer round made. I've seen spectacular results using it on deer. It's easy on the shoulder and out to about 300 yards it's just instant death if the shooter does his part. No bad comments here.

my first rifle. shot many deer with it. farthest shot was about 300 yards on a gound hog. a little luck maybe but a great gun.

Pretty awesome cartridge. Not too much, not too little, just right. But I like my 308's more. I have both, and pretty well grab either for deer. But same for my 270 too.

I have one in a Browning A-bolt. None of the deer I've shot with it have made it 40 yards. Just about perfect for deer. Plenty flat out to 300 yards yet very mild recoil. With a 140 grain bullet it will shoot through even the biggest whitetails. Around here it's growing in popularity every year. I think a lot of guys initially bought one for their kid or wife and then saw that, "hey little Timmys deer don't make it any farther than the ones I shoot with the 7mm magnum." LOL! Next thing you knowdad isshooting more deer with it than the kid. Being a short action you can get it in a very light gun which is nice as well.

Sweet round! Shoot one a few times and you'll love it. I dropped 5 deer with mine last year. Mild recoil with plenty of punch...those 308 based rounds are all pretty sweet.

Anyone useing a 120 gr bullet for deer in the 7/08?I have taken them with the 139 sst and it worked great,but this summer I have been trying the 120 hornady sp and hp and they are shooting so good I am wanting to try them out on deer.

Althought I have only hunted 1 season with the 7mm-08 it’s a treat at the range...

Very similar to my 25-06 :)A great cartridge for deer, and with the right bullets, will take elk quite well.
